In-Kind Contributions and Corporate Sponsorships
Programs, projects, garden maintenance and repairs to
the Clarkson home and grounds often require products and
services that have a significant impact on our operating
budget. Through the generosity of businesses and
individuals, in-kind gifts that support these activities
can help reduce our expenses, allowing us to focus our
spending in other areas such as improved educational
programs and expanded community outreach. Following are
some suggestions of in-kind gifts that can help us save
dollars that can be used elsewhere:
-
Frequent Flier miles for speakers and staff
attendance at conferences;
-
Hotel accommodations for speakers (usually January,
February and March);
-
Construction services, especially masonry, carpentry
and painting;
-
Product and gift certificate donations for door
prizes and other uses;
-
Catering and food preparation services for special
events;
-
Floral arrangements and other amenities for special
events.
In-kind gifts are acknowledged in
The Warbler, Wing
Haven’s quarterly newsletter that is mailed to over
3,000 households in the Charlotte area and in some cases
in our annual Membership Report. Often there are other
opportunities for acknowledgement, which can be explored
at the time of donation.
Please contact Cathy Tolman, Development and Public
Relations Coordinator (704-331-0664, ext. 108 or

donation.
Corporate Sponsorships
Wing Haven’s long standing in the Charlotte community
and its prominence as a cultural, environmental and
educational resource combine to create an attractive
opportunity for corporate sponsorships. Established
businesses as well as new businesses seeking to make an
impact are ideal corporate partners. Advertising and
print recognition and corporate entertaining
opportunities can be tailored to meet your needs.
Partnerships are available in a wide range of levels and
include education/outreach programs, facilities
construction and preservation, Garden Gala, Symposium
and other special events. Businesses that focus on
landscape design, “green” products and practices,
leisure/active clothing and equipment, outdoor
entertainment/construction, and gardening and birding
supplies among others would be natural partners with
Wing Haven. Direct exposure to our large and committed
membership base is another benefit of sponsorship.
Corporate sponsorships also may be in the form of
in-kind donations.

venerated organizations.
