Wing Haven Travels to Little Switzerland Wednesday, September 1 $135 per person (Hurry! Space is limited and our day trips fill up quickly!) Sorry...this trip is full. Hope you'll join us next time.
The Wing HavenTravel Committee has planned a wonderful day-trip to Little Switzerland. Located high in the Blue Ridge Mountains with elevations ranging from 3200 feet in the village to 4000 feet, Little Switzerland was so named because of its sweeping panoramas of deep valleys and distant ranges resemble those of the foothills of the Swiss Alps. The $135 fee covers transportation, lunch, snacks and a donation to Wing Haven.

WTVI's 'Flight Night' Wine Tasting featuring wine from Shelton Vineyards Friday, September 10 6 to 8 pm
Stroll the gardens as you enjoy wines from North Carolina's own Shelton Vineyards and hors d'oeuvres from Encore Catering. This pledge event for WTVI, Charlotte’s PBS affiliate, will take place at Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary. For a pledge to WTVI of $75 per person ($150 per couple) you will receive a ticket to the 'Flight Night' Wine Tasting. Pledges can be made by calling 1-888-371-9884.
Free for All! Saturday, September 18 10 am to 12 pm FREE! Join us in the garden this morning as we participate in ASC's Cultural Free For All. Enjoy the gardens and learn all about Skulls, Scats, Antlers and Tracks. It's free for all!
Charlotte Open Days Saturday, September 25 10 am to 4 pm Sunday, September 26 1 to 5 pm Cost: $5 per garden or 6 tickets for $25
Garden Conservancy’s Open Days program offers thousands of people across the country hundreds of opportunities to learn and exchange gardening ideas—or to simply explore and enjoy magnificent gardens and spaces not normally open to the public. This year, 6 private gardens—plus Wing Haven and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Botanical Gardens—are participating in the Charlotte Open Days weekend.
Admission to each participating private garden is $5 per person; children 12 and under are admitted free. Open Days are rain or shine events and no reservations are required. Proceeds for the Charlotte Open Days benefit the Garden Conservancy and Wing Haven.

A Wing Haven Plant sale is really for the birds! Our Nursery Shop is bursting at the seams with unique plants, tools, and gifts for the garden for your garden and home. We have an incredible selection of plants—unusual shrubs, antique roses, herbs, perennials, native plants, groundcovers, bulbs, and more. Plus our volunteers can give you plenty of advice on how to make them flourish. All proceeds benefit Wing Haven, a Charlotte treasure since 1927.

Local Charlotte Gardeners will share their beautiful properties and gardens with visitors during the Wing Haven Gardeners’ Garden Tour. Each gardener will be available to answer questions and share their gardening expertise. Both Wing Haven Gardens & Bird Sanctuary and the Elizabeth Lawrence Garden—the properties owned and maintained by Wing Haven will be open during the tour.
