Memorial Gifts and Honorariums We invite you to consider a contribution to Wing Haven as a meaningful and lasting way to memorialize a family member or friend or to acknowledge special events like Mother’s Day, retirement, anniversaries and birthdays.
How are the contributions used? Typically, the donations become part of Wing Haven’s endowment, supporting our mission in the community and ensuring the health and vigor of the garden. However, we also welcome gifts that are designated for a special remembrance within the garden, to support a favorite project or educational program, or to contribute to the challenges of maintaining an historical site. As “old” Charlotte continues to crumble around us, Wing Haven’s architectural and horticultural integrity become more important every day.
Friends of the garden often designate Wing Haven in an obituary as the recipient of directed memorial gifts. As well as commemorating a friend’s or loved one’s passing, these donations can make a significant impact on the health of our organization, and we are very grateful for this consideration. As with individual memorial gifts, these donations can be directed toward a favorite project within the garden.
